While multiple websites allow for people to have discussions on various topics, different websites allow for a different experience. Twitter and blackboard are both places where people could have a discussion; however, with Twitter it’s not as professional. Twitter allows for only 240 characters, meaning the person is limited to how much they could say. If one wanted to write more, they would need to do it in separate tweets. With blackboard there is no limit to how much one could write. However, Twitter has a more intuitive system of how people are able to respond to others. With the “retweet” feature it opens the discussion to a wider audience and would get straight to the point, due to the character limit. On blackboard, because there is no limit it allows people to fill the discussion up with jargon. In other words, they try to “dress up” their work with fancy words and phrases that they don’t need.
